Regrettably the 2014 Junior State Championship will not proceed this year owing to a lack of confirmed entrants.
Primarily set up to encourage Junior drivers in taking their next step in motorsport by competing on full sized circuits and being issued with a CAMS licence the series failed to attract enough interest this year.
The club firmly believes in it's junior Championship series and whilst there may not be a State Championship on offer during 2014 we will continue to offer a junior race as part of our Club series.
Juniors are eligible from the age of twelve (12) to sixteen (16) when they join our senior ranks. Past juniors Tim Clarke and Jamie MacDonald are now racing as seniors whilst others Conor Nicholson and James Allen have moved on to formula Vee or racing in Europe.
The Club wishes to thank it's sponsors and looks forward to their continued support of our junior series.
2012 Junior Championship:
The final round at Phillip Island has been contested with the final outcome of the 2012 Championship being Tim Clarke in first place, Conor Nicholson in second place, James Allen in third, Dylan Howell in fourth and Jamie MacDonald in fifth..
As you can see by the results below only Tim and Conor contested the final round. James and Dylan had other commitments interstate and Jamie Mac Donald gave the seniors ago finishing sixth.
New boy to the Junior Championships Tyler Williams couldn't wait for next year and asked to take up one the the spare spots.
Conor and Tyler will return for the 2013 Championship so if your a J max driver and would like to try racing on the big circuits with a CAMS licence see the first of our ads below the results.
Round three of the Championship was held at Winton Motor raceway near Benalla on May 13 under fine conditions and the five Juniors again did not disappoint with good clean racing all day.
Tim Clarke (VIC) took the early lead driving strongly for three of the heats with James Allen (WA) chipping away at improvements throughout the day and taking the win from Clarke in the final. Connor Nicholson (VIC) maintained a steady string of third places in a brand new chassis and is bound to be even quicker at the next meeting. Dylan Howell from (S.A.) and Jamie Mac Donald (VIC) struggled a little for pace but had a consistent day.
The Juniors will meet again for the National titles at Phillip Island in September where Tim Clarke will no doubt fight hard to retain his number one position before the final round of the State Championship at Phillip Island in November.
ROUND TWO, this time at Calder park under fine weather conditions.
